You dream.

An ocean of cold, crisp water laps at a beach of diamonds, eroding their perfect form and revealing the smooth plastic underneath.

You sit on this beach as you have since you were born, digging to touch the smooth basin that sits under the gemstones.

As you do, spiking crystals of ruby erupt from you, from your arm, your legs, your eye, your heart.

The tide rises and the cold water submerges you, is washes the ruby clean into diamond. The crystals break off from you and join the shimmering exterior.

Your skin remains intact, you can feel more ruby crystalizing within you.

You understand that this will continue. The low tide grows the ruby and the high tide absolves you of it. You relish the cold ocean.

You wake up.
